What is microfiber?
Microfiber is a synthetic fabric composed of extremely fine fibers made of polyester and polyamide. These fibers are even finer than a strand of hair and have the ability to capture dust and dirt on various surfaces, including those with cracks and crevices. The polyester fibers, with their electrostatic properties, attract and trap dust without spreading it around. The polyamide fibers, known for their absorbent properties, are effective in absorbing liquids.
The advantages of microfiber
Microfiber has a very high absorption power. In fact, it can absorb up to 7 times its weight in water! With its excellent absorbent properties, microfiber is the ideal fabric for cloths and mops.
It is also a hygienic material. Thanks to its electrostatic properties, microfiber captures dust and dirt without displacing it. Additionally, it can capture and destroy bacteria and pathogens that are present on various surfaces. As a result, your indoor environment stays cleaner for longer.
The tiny fibers of microfiber enable gentle cleaning. Being non-abrasive, they do not damage furniture surfaces and floors.
Why choose to clean with microfiber?
Microfiber has the advantage of not deteriorating over time, unlike traditional cotton cloths that tend to wear out with regular use. Microfiber cloths can be machine washed. However, be sure to never use fabric softener or bleach as it can damage the fibers and reduce the effectiveness of the microfiber.
Furthermore, thanks to its cleaning properties, microfiber can be used without the need for chemical cleaning products. It can be used dry for dusting or dampened to remove stains and dirt. At Atepac, we also offer microfiber cloths specifically designed for window cleaning, providing streak-free results.
How to maintain microfiber?
Microfiber is a durable fabric over time. A simple wash with warm water or in a washing machine is sufficient. However, be careful not to use bleach or fabric softener to avoid damaging the fibers. For drying, allow your microfiber to air dry and avoid using a dryer, as it can damage the fibers.
