What is central vacuuming?
The principle is simple: A central vacuum unit is installed in a separate room of the house (such as a garage, utility room, laundry room, or basement). This unit is stationary. Connected to this unit is a network of PVC pipes. This network runs through the walls, partitions, or even inside the closets of your home. As a result, it can serve one or multiple strategic points. At these various points, an inlet valve is installed. It is at this valve that the vacuum hose is connected. From there, accessories such as telescopic wands and various brushes can be attached. This way, the vacuumed dust will be transported to the collection bin or bag of your central vacuum unit.
In terms of installation, a central vacuum system consists of three main components :
- A network of PVC pipes
- A central vacuum unit
- Suitable accessories
There are also central vacuum systems equipped with a retractable hose in the wall. The hose will slide into the network of PVC pipes using the suction power of the central unit. You no longer have to store or move the hose from room to room. You just need to open the wall inlet and pull out the required length of the hose.
This type of installation can be done in new or existing homes during renovation, whether it’s a house or an apartment.
The advantages of a central vacuum system
A central vacuum unit stands apart from a traditional vacuum cleaner in terms of its power, performance, and low noise level. In fact, the central vacuum unit, placed in a separate room, virtually eliminates the emitted noise. Additionally, with this system, you will no longer experience any dust or allergen emissions. It is a significant advantage for individuals with asthma or allergies, as this vacuuming system provides improved indoor air quality and better hygiene in your home.
In order to fully appreciate and reap all the benefits of central vacuum systems, it is crucial to select a model that is suitable for the layout of your home and your specific needs. At Atepac, you will find everything you need: from the installation components (PVC piping) to the accessories and brushes for usage, as well as consumables (bags, filters), and maintenance supplies (spare parts).
